English Language Challenges

During my time in school the English classes I had were very basic, the truth is that I learned very little and that was noticed when I entered the university since most of my classmates had a good level of English. Because of this, it has become more difficult for me to learn and to be on a par with my classmates. However, in these years in the university if I have learned many things of English, the truth is that I am not an expert and it costs me the matter but I try to strive. With regard to the use of blogs that has been carried out in classes, at least for me has meant a helping, since the written part does not cost me as much as talking.

The hardest thing is to speak in English, the pronunciation is very difficult for me, I try but it does not work and I feel bad for it. :( I consider that English is fundamental in almost all areas of our day to day life, since Is increasingly present in our environment. Currently I work as a seller, and because of the sector where the store is located, many foreigners come to visit it, it has happened on more than one occasion that I have not been able to communicate with these clients for not managing the English.

In addition to the English class I am currently attending, I do not have a continuous use of this language elsewhere.

In order to improve my English I must practice a lot of pronunciation of words and learn much more vocabulary.

Changes to my study program

In this opportunity I will tell you some changes that I consider to be very necessary in the career of nursery education that is taught in our university.

I do not think that the duration of the race is a problem, even to me it is a short time ago. I think that there are many things to learn in a profession that is as complex as it is to be in constant relationship with children, we must know what to do to be a positive support in their lives.

Something very good that has the program of this race is that from the first year, we have the possibility of attending internships in various educational centers and thus know how really is the educational task and work with children. This is very good because it is in the place of the events where you learn more things. We learn things that in the career program are not, which are mainly didactic elements, which are fundamental when carrying out activities. Our career has many subjects focused on how children develop, the stages they go through, their process of physical and psychological development, but it lacks the practical part, because in most cases what is studied in the Classes is very different from what happens in practice and that is when it becomes obvious the lack of tools.

As I mentioned earlier, I believe that pedagogy is such an area that we must learn everything. I remember that I had an elective course on health and first aid, the course was very good, it was excellent for our future work with children. Learning about medicines, how to heal wounds, the regular conduits to be followed in case of accident and first aid in general is essential in our career and I think it should be a compulsory subject in the program of the race and unfortunately it was not in that so.

I believe that in five years we only learn a base, it is essential that we continue in a constant learning and updating of knowledge.

Winter Holidays

Actually this winter I will not have vacations :( although the classes in the university will end and we will have some weeks of rest, for my part I must continue working, even more than now, since I must take advantage that I will have more free time and take advantage of getting A full-time job.

However, the fact of not having travel plans or that kind of thing does not mean that I will not take advantage of carrying out other activities that lately I had to leave aside. My family is not from Santiago, I travel to San Vicente every month to see my mom but this last time has been very difficult since I have been with time very tight between work and university; I would like to take advantage of going and staying a few days there and enjoy family that is something I need a lot!

I would also love to go for a walk in the snow !!! The truth is that we are planning with some colleagues, we must coordinate our schedules and that is always the most complicated. The good thing that we have the issue of the transfer resolved, since one of my colleagues have a car and we will pay the gasoline among all, it is an alternative that will come much more to account than going by bus or something like that.

I am very enthusiastic about the idea, besides liking the place where we want to go, I feel that doing these things with friends is very entertaining!

This photo I really like because it was an especially entertaining and joyful occasion! It was for the Copa America 2015 final where he played Chile with Argentina.

I remember that in that opportunity because it is an important final, we decided to go with my sister and some friends to see the event away from home and celebrate accordingly in case the result was a triumph: D

In these dates where there were football matches it is common for pubs to put giant screens to receive large numbers of public and set up a party atmosphere everywhere!

To see the final we went to one of these places located in the Bellavista neighborhood. I remember we were all nervous, expectant of every minute of play; Chile has not had such a good performance in a championship for a long time and the possibility of winning a cup for the first time was very enthusiastic. It did not matter if we knew or did not know the people who were at the tables around, there was a time when we all shared everything and that was great!

When the final moment of the game arrived, we were all with the adrenaline in the clouds! The result was defined by penalties which made the moment even more tense. When Chile scored the goal that defined the triumph the euphoria was unleashed completely, we were all bathed in beer, we hugged and jumped with happiness! In minutes we went out to the street, everyone did the same to go to Plaza Italia as it is tradition to celebrate together in that place. That was where this photo was taken. It was in a period of time according to the student demands that are given every year, that's why the poster motif is behind me.

Postgraduate Studies

The truth is that I would love to continue studying. I have in my plans even to study another race, it is similar to what I am studying. I would like to study basic pedagogy and specialize in the area of ​​language, to be able to realize that would be like a dream for me.

In relation to my current career, I would like to do a postgraduate course related to child psychology, as I mentioned in an earlier post, psychology in an area that fascinates me and it would be very interesting to be able to relate it to education, especially with the behavior of boys and girls. I also consider that a course like this would be very useful when dealing with parents and guardians. There are often difficult contexts in schools and in the families of schoolchildren and it is good to have the tools to address those problems and be able to offer help and deliver solutions. Having knowledge of the psychological field, the educational task would be much more effective.

I would love to have the possibility to travel and to know other realities and other educational models. I believe that early childhood education in Chile is an issue that does not have the importance it deserves. The kindergarten is considered as only a kindergarten, without valuing its educational contribution and I would like to have the necessary tools to contribute to the change of that misconception.

My future job

When it was finally time to decide what was going to study, I entered the race early childhood education, once inside, I fell in love with the profession I was going to play. Since the first year of the race we had to do internships in schools and share with children this time as an educator, he helped me to realize that actually this is my vocation.

Education in early childhood is fundamental. It's a very nice job, I am convinced that in this I work and I will gladly, be my contribution to the most beautiful that every society has and must take care that their children are. Besides being my vocation, it is a job that I must be in constant interaction with other people and that pleases me. It will also allow me to spend time with family and friends, because despite being a job with many obligations, is from Monday to Friday and has fixed some holiday periods.

More than a taste for teaching, with this race what I have is a love of learning together with children, my interest is not focused on what they can learn from me, but on the things we can discover together. I want to help them discover their own abilities and enhance them together. As a future educator, my role is to guide and support. I have seen sometimes situations that do not please me, I've seen passed to take the kids for just that being children, I think it's very important to make a change in the concept we have of education in early childhood and in my work I intend to contribute to that change.

I love my career and my future work!!! :)

My obsession with French fries!

The truth is that I really like to eat. I like to taste different flavors and generally everything I like. I have always had a special fascination for everything that are the pastas and the chips. Especially the fries I love! I could say that they are like an addiction to me, I could eat them every day. I do not do this because I know it is harmful to health to eat fried foods so often.

The last few days I've been especially good at eating. The place where I work has a casino, food machines everywhere and also the food court of the mall is next to the store where I work, so getting something to eat is very simple task. Since I have a weakness with French fries, the last week I have eaten a portion almost every day. The truth is that I have not bought them, but a coworker gives them to me and in that situation it is impossible to say no to my temptation. With my partner we go out together and she always buys a lunch promotion that includes the portion of chips, but she does not like it and offers it to me. It is at that moment that I accept.

I can really say that the French fries obsess me!
